We strive to help create an inclusive, sustainable future through affordable housing development; and to help individuals, families, and communities thrive by developing, supporting, and enhancing affordable housing in the Pacific Northwest.

The Work We Do

We enhance affordable housing availability in underserved areas by securing resources, fostering lasting partnerships, aiding stability through financial assistance, and supporting nontraditional developers.

Secure and leverage resources to increase the supply of affordable housing in underserved markets for underserved communities

Who We Work With

Evergreen Community Partners serves a broad range of individuals, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest who need safe and affordable housing. Our mission and principles reflect a commitment to inclusivity and addressing diverse populations’ housing challenges. We partner with many other mission-based organizations to enhance the lives of the residents we serve, including but not limited to:

Todos Juntos’ mission is “Creating connections that empower, educate, and inspire children, youth, and families. We value and celebrate diversity.” Their vision is empowering youth and their families to be successful at school, at home, and in their communities. Evergreen Community Partners works with Todos Juntos as the service provider at Wade Creek Commons in Estacada and Bear Creek Apartments in Molalla.

Salem For Refugees has welcomed hundreds of refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers from a variety of countries including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Sudan, South Sudan, Ukraine & Venezuela. Salem For Refugees is our valued partner at Grand Fir Apartments in Salem and we’re in talks to partner at upcoming projects as well.

Community Action Resource Enterprises (CARE) is Tillamook County’s homegrown, locally controlled, non-profit social service agency. They provide a wide array of services for people in crisis and others who struggle to make ends meet. They work with Evergreen Community partners in providing and supporting referrals at The Willet Apartments in Tillamook and will be partnering with us on a new development in Manzanita as well.

Casa Latinos Unidos is committed to strengthening the Latinx communities in Linn and Benton Counties through programs that support people in meeting basic needs, build resilience and capacity through education and leadership development, and celebrate cultures.  They will be the primary service provider at Rivergreen Landing Apartments in Corvallis and at an upcoming project near downtown Corvallis.

Friendly House Elder Pride Services (formerly SAGE Metro Portland) works to enhance the lives of older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) community members through education, advocacy, outreach and resource development. Elder Pride Services works with Evergreen as the primary resident services provider at The Opal Apartments in Washington County.

The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) serves the holistic needs of Oregon’s immigrants, refugees and mainstream community members. As a community-based organization, they empower children, youth, families and elders from around the world to build new lives and become self-sufficient by providing more than 200 culturally and linguistically specific social services. IRCO collaborates with us to serve the Zomi refugee population at Evergreen Community Partners’ The Lawrence Apartments in Northeast Portland.

In early 2021, Salem for Refugees was approached by World Relief about becoming an affiliate site. As one of the 9 State Department-funded refugee resettlement agencies, this affiliate relationship has allowed Salem For Refugees, and now Corvallis For Refugees, to receive cases directly through World Relief and bring long-term refugee resettlement directly to Oregon. Corvallis For Refugees is our valued referral and service partner at Rivergreen Landing Apartments and are collaborating with Evergreen Community Partners on another upcoming housing development near downtown Corvallis.

Since 1972, Centro has built systems to improve the health and economic mobility of underserved communities in Washington County. They provide multigenerational and culturally-specific services through the following core program areas: K-12 STEAM education, workforce development, small business technical assistance, public engagement, civic advocacy, community health and wellness, transitional housing, and community-wide arts and cultural events. Centro will be providing resident services and referrals to a newly funded development Evergreen is supporting in North Plains!

ALSO is one of Oregon’s leading nonprofit disability support services providers in the Portland Metro area, Deschutes County, and Klamath County. Founded in 1997, it is committed to full community inclusion and independence for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.ALSO is partnering with Evergreen at The Atwood Apartments to provide 98 homes, including 22 one-bedrooms 24 two-bedrooms, and 52 three-bedroom units for those with incomes at or below 60% AMI and 30% AMI, providing a critically needed increase to the local stock of affordable housing in Bend.

Cornerstone Community Housing is an experienced affordable housing developer and resident services provider. They work with owners and State housing agencies to design and write state-approved resident services plans and provide their award-winning Healthy Homes program at 65 properties across twelve counties in Oregon. Cornerstone partners with Evergreen Community Partners to provide resident services at multiple current developments including Fern Ridge Apartments in Stayton and Beech Street Commons in Mill City, and will be partnering with us at multiple upcoming developments as well!

How We Do This Work

Resource Mobilization

Grant Writing and Fundraising: Evergreen actively seeks out grant opportunities and engages in fundraising efforts to secure financial resources necessary for affordable housing development.

Partnership Facilitation

Networking: Evergreen fosters relationships with both developers and community-based organizations, acting as a bridge to connect them for collaborative projects.

Capacity Building: They offer training and capacity-building support to these partners to ensure they can work together effectively on long-term, impactful projects.

Stability Programs

Financial Assistance: Evergreen partners with property managers and developers to implement short-term financial assistance programs for residents facing economic challenges. This support reduces turnover rates, ensuring housing stability.

Education and Counseling: They also provide financial education and counseling services to residents, helping them build financial resilience and avoid future crises.

Support for Nontraditional Developers

Technical Assistance: Evergreen offers technical support and guidance to nontraditional and first-time developers, assisting them through the complexities of affordable housing projects.

Resource Sharing: They provide access to valuable resources, including best practices, templates, and connections to industry experts, to empower these developers.

Advocacy and Policy Engagement

Policy Advocacy: Evergreen actively engages in advocating for policies that promote affordable housing development and address the unique challenges of underserved communities.

Educational Initiatives: They provide resources and educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of affordable housing and the benefits it brings to communities.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Impact Assessment: Evergreen continuously evaluates the impact of their programs and initiatives, using data and feedback to refine their strategies and improve outcomes.
